Design Time is an interactive revisions process. This is when you and your designer will collaborate on the design.
When you start the design process, your designer will upload a Concept Board as an initial jumping off point to start the conversation. This isn't your actual design yet, but it's a mood board to show you an overall idea/vision of your design. Once you agree upon the concept, your designer will upload a Design Board with your actual furniture items and decor.
When you start reviewing your items, you're first reviewing your foundational items (this includes larger pieces such as a couch or bed). Once that is confirmed, your designer will move onto secondary pieces, and eventually your accent pieces to finish out the design. This method was created so you're not overwhelmed with looking at 20 different items at a time. Instead you're looking at about 4 items at a time, and providing feedback.
Throughout your Design Time, it’s important to reiterate your wants and needs with your designer. Please give specific feedback of the selections you’ve received so far and be as honest as possible (for example, “I don’t like this because it’s red and I don’t like red”). If you are unsure of why you don’t like it, please feel free to let your designer know. Your designer is the expert and perhaps can offer an explanation as to why they chose something for your space.
It's a very collaborative process so you'll be asked to give feedback on every item on the board. If there's something you don't love, just let your designer know why (color, shape, fabric, etc), and your designer will be happy to provide other alternatives for you to choose from. If there are additional items you want to be added, feel free to let your designer know and she will add them into your design. Once a number of changes are made to your designer, she will upload an updated Design Board for you to review everything.
Throughout your 10 days of Design Time, it's expected that both you and your designer will check into the project at least once a day. Communication with your designer is not an instant chat or text message response; rather it's like email where you and your designer will respond to all comments/questions when you log in for the day.
